It’s Not Enough
Still looking for it.
High hopes every chance encounter,
Hypotheticals abounding each new connection made
But still looking.
Fleeting smiles & misguided intentions,
Broken limbs & hard falls-foolish, it’s known
But fools still do it; still looking.
Feelings nonreciprocating received,
Some near adequate, though
It’s not enough-still looking.
Half-hearted presence,
Draining feigned infatuation
Pretending it’s close, far from enough.
Kindred desires, lacking passion
Harsh realities of realism
It’s not enough. Still looking.
Taxing rise & fall of faith,
Bouts of insanity-same cause, same effect
Same yearning. It’s not enough.
It’s never enough, still looking.
